| Rosie's Clam Shack became a reality with a lot of hard work and belief in one's self. Not to mention saving most all of the tips I earned, those quarters really do add up...
I came to Florida in 1978 from Detroit, Michigan. When I arrived I worked in the insurance business. I always worked two jobs to support my daughter and myself. Waiting tables I ended up at Nikki's Clam Shack, here in Pinellas Park, Florida.

Not surprising I knew nothing about New England seafood, "You mean there are clams other than strips, and fish other than fish sticks". I first learned the seafood by eating it, then I learned where it came from and how it was harvested. Lobster to me was what rich people on T.V. ate. Many hours were spent listening, learning and finally cooking. Now its Steamed Maine Clams, sea scallops, whole belly clams, chowder, haddock, the works, with of course fresh Florida seafood and some other items that I feel really complete our menu. |
When the opportunity came up to buy this restaurant, I called my daughter Tammy and asked if she would come home and help me, together we could do it. Tammy had worked at Nikki's as a bus girl, so it was only fitting her boys should bus here also. So here we are, the family business, working hard to bring you the best seafood we can in a fun, friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
While you're just call me over, let me know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasing. In case I'm out on my motorcycle, on a wave or in a cave, just call Tammy.
Great to see you!
Rosie
